Getting Articles Not Owned by USU
If the Merrill-Cazier Library does not have a journal or magazine article that you need, you can request a copy of an article from Interlibrary Services. The library will get a copy of the article from another library and send a copy to you electronically.
- Articles are delivered as PDF files.
- Currently enrolled students and current employees are eligible to use this service for their USU-related research.
- Sign up for an account with the ILLiad interlibrary loan system.
- No fees are charged for most transactions.
Books USU Does Not Own
Need a book that is not owned by USU? If the book fits the needs of the library collection and it is not a course textbook (the library does not purchase course textbooks), we will try to quickly purchase the book, rush the cataloging, and send it to you. All you need to do is complete the RCDE book request form for books that you would like sent to you.
Also, students, faculty or staff of USU can borrow books in person from any Utah academic library, plus a selection of Nevada college libraries (including UNLV).
You can borrow books in person from libraries listed here with your USU ID card.
Notes:
Textbooks are not purchased by the library; they available through the USU bookstore.
We typically don't purchase current popular fiction and other books that aren't used for USU courses. For these types of books, your local public library is the best bet.
Faculty and Graduate Students: If it is not feasible for the library to purchase the book you need, we will borrow the book through Interlibrary Loan and send the book to you. Regardless, all you need to do is complete the RCDE book request form for any book that you need send to you.
Please contact Britt if you have any questions or run into any problems.
