  • CIA World Factbook
    Choose your country, and within Economy, find statistics related to GDP, labor force including employment, and inflation rates. Within the section titled People, find information about ethnicities and literacy rates
  • Index Mundi
    This site present data from the CIA World Factbook with graphical views.
  • Nations of the World: A political, economic & business handbook
    This print book starts each country report with a great nutshell look at the key economic and political issues in the country. Each country is also given a political, economic, and regional stability risk assessment.
    Also find a summary of the education system, health expeditures, and welfare situation in each country, as well as an overview of the major industries.

  • The Economist
    Browse through the alphabetic list for your country and view a list of recent articles from the Economist magazine, typically assessing the political and economic health of the country.
    Search or browse the Economist full-text via the library subscription.
  • Global Competitiveness Report 2013-2014
    These country assessments from the World Economic Forum assess corruption, infrastructure, education levels, and labor markets (i.e. ease and affordability of hiring workers and wage flexibility).
  • Corruptions Perception Index
    Assesses public sector corruption in 178 countries. Compare countries across measures.
  • The Index of Economic Freedom
    Find how a country ranks against others (183 countries are included in the index) on labor freedom, freedom from corruption, monetary freedom, and government spending, among others. The index is a joint effort of the Wall St. Journal and Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.
