Variety of Sources: Searching by Source Type

This guide explains the importance of using a variety of perspectives and source types in your research.

Searching for a Variety of Source Types

1. When searching in a Library database such as ProQuest Central, you can find a wide variety of source types. Place your search term at the top of the page and hit search. We're going to use "higher education." 

2. On the left-hand side of the page, you can limit your search by source type.

3. Click More > to see all source types available.

4. Click the boxes next to the source types you want to Include in the search results and click Apply.
