The Mountain West Digital Library is the one stop for finding scanned or transcribed digital documents. Included in the site are digital holdings from universities, colleges, public libraries, museums, and historical societies in Utah, Nevada, and Idaho.
***Be aware that this is currently a subscription site, licensed only to individuals. That being said, if you are starting a serious research project this site could be very useful to you. It offers complete access of over 3,000 transcribed and fully keyword searchable E-Books.
This website contains thousands of digital and transcribed documents from early Mormon history. The creator of the site is a from a fundamentalist sect of Mormonism and as such has included a rich verity of information from more then just the main branch of the Mormon church.
BYU's digital library is an excellent source for finding scans of original documents. The downside is that most of the documents are not keyword searchable.
Wikipedia...I know, but it is still a good place to find general knowledge about Mormon topics and history. A key to using Wikipedia is to carefully review the bibliography for any page you are using for your research.
This is the offical site of the Mormon Church and contains all official publications and materials produced by the church. One key thing to remember about this site is that it is completely apologetic, little critical works will be found on the site.
This is a publishers website, however they do offer links for fully transcribed E-Books. Much of what is produced is critical of the Mormon church. While there is valuable information on this site use it as carefully as you would the LDS church's site.
This site is built in a non-English language but do not let that stop you from searching the site. Much of the material found on the site is Mormon literature written in English, such as a transcribed version of John Corrill's A Brief History of the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints.
