Want to incorporate digital exhibits into your course? Librarians can provide tailored instruction on exhibits design, copyright, and platform use. We offer up to 2 class sessions a semester and are available for one-on-one consultations to support both faculty and students in creating impactful digital projects.

1. Copyright and Fair Use in Digital Exhibits

Overview: This session would help students understand how to legally and ethically use images, media, and archival materials in their exhibits.

Learning Goals:

  • Students will be able to:
    • Understand Creative Commons licenses, public domain, and fair use
    • Identify and source openly licensed materials
    • Understand how to properly attribute and credit media in a digital exhibit

2. Hands-On Workshop: Getting Started with [Platform Name]

Key Concepts Covered:

  • Overview of platform
  • Navigating the interface
  • Building an exhibit step-by-step
  • Design and accessibility
  • Publishing and sharing

Activity: Create a Mini Digital Exhibit

  • Choose a topic for their test exhibit
  • Upload and arrange at least 3 items
  • Add descriptions and/or metadata
  • Customize the layout and navigation
  • Publish their exhibit
