This guide provides access to information for selective depositories in the Federal Depository Library Program located in Utah and Nevada. USU Libraries serves as the Regional Depository for these libraries.

Discards & Weeding

The Discards process in Utah & Nevada follows the Legal Requirements and Program Regulations (LRPR) of the Federal Depository Library Program. Selective Coordinators should be familiar with LRPR and with the processes listed below.

These policies exist to ensure a comprehensive Regional collection for the people of Utah & Nevada.

The Merrill-Cazier Government Information collection is not fully cataloged. The department is actively collecting when items are missing or damaged. Priority is given to SuDoc stems that reflect Merrill-Cazier Library collection focuses. See the SuDoc priority list and contact the Regional Coordinator for information. Historic materials (produced prior to 1970) are given additional scrutiny due to the increased difficulty of finding these materials via the national catalog or WorldCat.

The Regional Coordinator is a resource and is available to discuss selective library needs.

Needs & Offers

Current Needs are listed through FDLP eXchange. Selective depositories should contact the Regional Coordinator with Offers.
