Social Explorer: Home

United States demographic and census information via downloadable interactive maps, reports and data sets.

Social Explorer

Social Explorer is an online research tool providing current and historical census data and demographic information. The web interface facilitates the creation of interactive maps and reports to illustrate, analyze and understand demography and social change.

USU's subsciption allows only one person to use the full database at a time: Social Explorer

There is an option to set up a 30-day free account to use Social Explorer; see a link for this in the upper right corner of the database's homepage.

This is a comprehensive data resource including the entire US Census from 1790 to 2000, plus the first 2010 census data release.
