Welcome to the Government Documents Department at Utah State University! Here is a brief description of what information you will find on this webpage.

Government Documents at Utah State University - Welcome

The Government Documents Department is located at Utah State University in the Merrill - Cazier Library. Here is some information you might need before visiting us: 

  • Regular Office Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (the office is closed during weekends and holidays) Please call ahead if you have any questions or concerns before your visit 435 - 797 - 2684
  • Location: Merrill Cazier Library in the Lower Level Southwest (LLSW)
  • The Collections: 
    • The Collections include: paper, general government documents, microfiche and microfilm.
    • The Government Documents Department Offices inlcudes: CD, DVD, secure area materials including the Serial Set (House and Senate reports, docs and prints) and the Congressional Record. These collections must be accessed during office hours
  • Public Access Computers: available on the 1st floor of the library by the Info Desk and in the Gov Docs area. 
  • Printing: Topographic Maps and Poster printing is also available in our department! Printing hours are weekdays from 8:30am - 4:30 pm

Merrill-Cazier Library is a Regional Depository for U.S. Government publications. Some non-Utah State publications and publications of major United Nations organs (Assembly, Council, Secretariat) are available in the Library's Government Document Department, while Utah state documents are located in Merrill Library's Special Collections Division.  

Poster and Map Printing:

Department Staff will reproduce USGS topographic maps on a cost recovery basis, using IGAGE software and HP plotters.
Software allows for hill shading and crossing quadrangles. Regular or water resistant paper is available. Posters are printed using the HP plotters to print research posters for faculty members and students.

Map Scales: 1:24,000, 1:100,000; and 1:250,000.

Prices: Regular $4.00; Water Resistant paper $6.00; Any map over 4 feet: Regular $8.00; Water Resistant $10.00

Payment methods: Cash, Check, P-Card, Visa

Hours for map reproduction service: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
