Article Databases
The Library provides access to a few hundred research databases, which are specialized search engines used for locating citations to articles and other research material related to specific topics. NOTE: If you are off-campus, all of these databases will require authentication. For research on topics related to Classics, I recommend the following:
- L'Anne PhilologiqueThis database, published by the Socit Internationale de Bibliographie Classique, is a specialized bibliographic collection of scholarly works relating to all aspects of Ancient Greek and Roman civilizations. The online database includes all volumes of the annual index, beginning with Volume I published in 1928.
- Humanities InternationalHumanities article database with links to full text and bibliographic indexing of noted scholarly sources.
- MLA BibliographyInternational modern language and literature bibliographic database. MLA includes citations from over 4,400 journals and series, monographs, working papers and conference proceedings.
- JSTORMultidisciplinary journal collection, including the social sciences, humanities, and sciences.
- Project MuseMultidisciplinary e-journal collection for humanities and social sciences. Muse contains nearly 600 quality journal titles from 120 scholarly publishers and is operated by the Johns Hopkins University Press.
