This guide will provide tips on how to find materials in USU's Special Collections and Archives.

What is SCA?

Special Collections & Archives (SCA) houses rare books, art books, folklore, manuscripts, photographs, government documents, and university archives. SCA is located on the lower level of the Merrill-Cazier Library.

Please Note:

While some materials are open to browse, more collections are preserved in closed stacks.

Select materials are available online.

3. In the search bar, type in some keywords related to your research topic. Then click the blue search button.

This will redirect you to Archives West, the primary tool for searching inventories or finding aids for the Folklore, Manuscripts, Photographs, and University Archives collections.

Searching from the Special Collections and Archives home page automatically limits the search to materials at USU. If you access Archives West another way, make sure USU is the selected repository.

4. Collections that contain your keyword(s) will show on the results list.
