Uploading Your Podcast

The platforms listed here are free and public, meaning your podcast will be available for anyone to listen to. Be mindful that these sites can change their policies or remove content at any time, so always keep a backup of your recordings.

Uploading Your Podcast to the Institutional Repository (IR)

USU has it's own Institutional Repository! You can upload your podcast and become part of the university's academic record. It will be preserved and accessible to the campus community and beyond. 

To submit your podcast, you'll need to do the following:

  • A completed submission form found here
  • An MP3 file of your podcast episode
  • A transcript of your podcast in a plain text file (.txt)
  • An abstract summarizing your podcast topic and content

What is Copyright?

Copyright is designed to give authors an incentive to create original works by affording them a limited-term monopoly on their intellectual creations. 

Copyright is best understood as a suite of five rights:

  • The right to reproduce your work
  • The right to distribute your work
  • The right to create derivatives of your work
  • The right to display your work
  • The right to perform your work
