Online Learning Resources: Research Guides

This guide shares some information about the variety of USU Libraries' online learning resources.

Library Research Guides

The library's research guides are great tools for instruction on specific topics, subjects, and library services. Research guides can be created for specific courses, too! It’s easy to embed them in Canvas courses to support instruction (see those instructions below).

Check out the library's research guides or reach out to your library liaison team for assistance in creating one!

Embedding in Canvas

To have a course research guide embedded in Canvas:

1. Go into your Canvas course.

2. In the side navigation make sure the "Research Help" tab is visible.

3. Work with a librarian to create a guide specific for your course (i.e. key databases, research tips, etc.).

If the "Research Help" tab isn't visible, contact your CIDI representative for help.

Quick "How-To" Guides

These guides can be used in a few ways:

  • Sent out as links to students who need assistance (i.e with citing, picking keywords, etc) - simply send the link!
  • You can ask your liaison librarian team to embed specific guides as links in your Research Guide based on assignment requirements.
  • You can embed the guides as links in your Canvas course.
