Open Access Support: Publisher Discounts

Open access support options available for USU researchers.

Institutional Discounts

USU Libraries has secured discounts with publishers as part of membership agreements to reduce the costs of open access publishing. These deals provide USU authors with discounts on Article Processing Charges (APCs). Through these discounts, USU researchers can make their work freely accessible to a worldwide audience, increasing the spread of knowledge and supporting the goals of the University.

MDPI

USU Libraries has a membership in MDPI's institutional Open Access program, which offers a 10% discount on Article Processing Charges (APCs) for our affiliated corresponding authors.

Conditions

  • Must be corresponding author
  • Must use @usu.edu email address
  • Must list Utah State University as your affiliation

Royal Society

Authors affiliated with USU receive a 25% discount on the article processing charge for publishing in any Royal Society journal. Authors who select an Open Access option at the time of submission will be directed to a list of member institutions to identify their affiliation.

Current Membership Ends:

December 31, 2024

IEEE

Corresponding authors affiliated with USU receive a 15% discount on APCs in IEEE journals. IEEE will first send the invoice to USU Libraries. The Library will need to decline to pay in order to trigger the discount; then the invoice will be rerouted to the author with a 15% discount applied.
